Ahmedabad, Feb 25 (UNI) People scarred by the 2002 post-Godhra riots will relate their woes during a six-day event, ''Sach Ki Yadein, Yadon Ka Sach'', which is being hosted jointly by several city-based organisations to coincide with the fifth anniversary of the communal frenzy.

The riot victims will narrate their woes on March 1, according to a press release issued by Citizens for Justice and Peace and Communalism Combat, Mumbai, which is one of the organisations participating in the event.

The event has been planned with a view to ''restore the dignity of victims and serve as a continuing reminder'', according to Fr Cedric Prakash, who is director of ''Prashant'' -- a human rights organisation that is coordinating the event.

On March 1, the riot victims will speak of their ''struggle for a life of acknowledgment and dignity'', the press release from Citizens for Justice and Peace said.

The release claimed that 61,000 people continue to be internally displaced within the state.

Apart from Citizens for Justice and Peace and Communalism Combat, the other organisations which have joined hands to host the event are Action Aid, Aman Samuday, Amdavad Muslim Women's Association, Anala, Awag, Behavioral Science Centre (BSC), Centre for Development, Darpana, Darshan, Drishti, Himmat and Insaf.

Seminars, film shows, dramas, street plays and painting exhibitions will be held as part of the six-day event which commences on February 26 and concludes on March 3.
