33 per cent reservation for women in TTD institutions

Tirumala, Feb 25 (UNI) Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) trust board, the highest decision making body of Lord Venkateswara temple here, today decided to reserve 33 per cent seats for women in TTD educational institutions.

They had also decided to celebrate Kaisika Dwadasi in 108 dalitwadas in Andhra Pradesh on Nov 21 this year. Sahasra Deepalankara Seva would be introduced in Goddess Padmavathi Ammavaru temple in Tiruchanoor, TTD Chairman B Karunakar Reddy said here after the board meeting.

The board also decided to regularise 117 archaka gumastha services working in TTD, Mr Reddy added.

Co-education system would be introduced in TTD's S V Arts college and S G Arts college in Tirupati, where 33 per cent reservation would be given for women students.

To develop computer skills among students studying in TTD schools, the board would provide computer education to 5,000 students with the help of NIIT Hyderbad, he said.

TTD also decided to provide Rs two lakh ex-gratia to a dalit. who was killed by electrocution during Venkateswara Swamy temple inauguration held recently, besides providing free educaton to his children in S V Balamandir.
