Unseasonal rainfall, hailstorm lashes western MP, farmers worried
Bhopal, Feb 24 (UNI) Unseasonal rainfall and hailstorm in Gwalior and Sagar divisions of Madhya Pradesh has badly affected the standing crops.
Meteorological department said crops suffered heavy damages in Sheopur district because of rainfall and hailstorm. Strong winds have buffeted the district since morning.
Bherulal was killed when lightning struck him while he was grazing cattle at Vasundhar village in the district.
Heavy rains and strong winds lashed Shivpuri district and nearby regions since morning, bringing down temperature, while the state capital experienced winds along with cloudy sky.
The weather department has predicted showers accompanied with lightning in Bhopal, Hoshangabad, Gwalior, Chambal, Sagar and Indore divisions.
According to UNI reports from Shivpuri and Sheopur, standing wheat, mustard and lentil crops are likely to suffer damages.
Unseasonal rainfall and hailstorm had lashed several parts of the state in the second week of February causing severe damages to standing crops.
