Sri Lankan girl arrested with fake passport

Chennai, Feb 24 (UNI) A Sri Lankan girl was arrested at the international airport here today when she tried to board a Kuwait airways flight, enroute to France, with a fake passport.

Airport sources said the girl Dhasini (20), hailing from Trincomallee in the island nation, had completed Plus two and wanted to pursue higher studies.

Since she could not get direct visa to France from Colombo, she came to Chennai and later moved to Tiruchirapalli, where she obtained a fake passport and a visa to France through an agent.

During immigration checks, officials found that the passport was fake.

Later, she was handed over to the Airport police, who arrested her and remanded her in judicial custody.
