'People should be taken into confidence on Pak related issues'
New Delhi, Feb 24 (UNI) Claiming the Central Government's response to Pakistan President General Musharraf's suggestions on Jammu and Kashmir was working against the national interest, the BJP today demanded that the negotiations on such policies should be done taking the nation into confidence.
BJP office bearers, who met to pass a resolution felt that the record of the Congress-led UPA Government in handling the security issues had been causing concerns. The government was 'consistently soft' on terror and intent on addressing the vote bank politics.
The terrorists were striking at will and the blasts on the Attari bound Samjhauta Express was one such example, they said.
The Government had not shown any interest to execute Mohammad Afzal, found guilty in the Parliament attack case by the Supreme Court, it said.
They also alleged that in the last few months there was resurgence in insurgency particularly in Asom while the Maoists were expanding their corridor.
The party said National Security Advisor himself had admitted infiltration of terrorists in the stock exchanges. Explosives and materials used for making Improvised Explosive Devises meant for LTTE was finding its destination to places in the south.
