Meerut, Feb 24 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav today ruled out any ''constitutional threat'' to his government.

''I pity the leaders of those political parties who are trying their best to prove the state government is unconstitutional,'' he said, in his address at the Golden Jubilee function of the Anglo-Sanskrit College, organised by Uttar Pradesh Secondary Teachers' Association.

''Their efforts have, however, failed,'' he added.

Mr Yadav said that ''certain political parties'' want President's Rule to be imposed in the state because ''they fear to face elections.'' Reiterating that his government does not face any threat and all the MLAs have full confidence in his leadership, he said he did not care whether he stayed in power or not as this is the test of Democracy.

''Political parties may have ideological differences but it does not mean that every work that our party does is viewed as unconstitutional,'' he said.

In an apparent attack on Congress President Sonia Gandhi he said that those who wear foreign clothes have no right to interpret the Indian Constitution''.
