Lucknow, Feb 24 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Governor T V Rajeswar has written a letter to Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav saying there is no need to accept the resignations of the seven ministers, who had been disqualified by the Supreme Court on Februrary 14.

It is learnt that the Raj Bhawan wrote ''there is no point accepting resignation letters of seven ministers, since they stand disqualified from Augut 27, 2003 as per the SC order.'' The letter said there is also constitutional provision rendering needless the acceptance of resignations of disqualfied legislators.

The seven ministers -- Rajendra Singh Rana, Shailendra Yadav, Yogesh Pratap Singh, Jai Prakash Yadav, Virendra Singh Bundela, Rajpal Tyagi and Dinesh Singh -- had resigned from the Mulayam Singh Yadav ministry on February 15.

All the 13 rebel BSP MLAs had been disqualified from the state assembly on February 19 by the assembly secretariat through a notification.

A total of 37 MLAs had formed the Loktantrik Bahujan Dal (LBD) in September 2003 and later merged with the ruling Samajwadi Party in UP.
