MP Annual Plan fixed at Rs 12,011 crore

New Delhi, Feb 24 (UNI) The annual state plan outlay for the year 2007-08 for Madhya Pradesh was finalised at Rs 12,011 crore by the Planning Commission after Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met its Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia here today.

This marks an increase of Rs 33.16 crore over the last year's plan outlay which was Rs 9,020 crore.

There will be a one time additional central assistance of Rs 111 crore for projects of special assistance to the State.

Out of the total outlay, Rs 1,753 crore had been earmarked for irrigation, Rs 1,600 crore for development of roads and Rs 1,360 crore for power sector.

The Chief Minister apprised the Planning Commission of fiscal management done by the Government in the last one year where it had not only been incresing its revenue but also containing the non plan expenditure.

The Planning Commission appreciated the fiscal efforts and the reform process taken up in different sectors by the State Government.
