Law student, 3 others arrested for loot

Varanasi, Feb 24 (UNI) Police today solved last night's bus loot case with the arrest of four youth, including a law student, from Lanka area here.

Police said Sohan Lal, Shyam Sunder, Jitendra Bahadur and Hemant Singh were arrested near Ravidas Temple.

On interrogation, the quartet admitted to looting an Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) bus near Vishwa Sundari bridge in Lanka area.

Two countrymade pistols, two knives, a motorcycle and Rs 7,600 in cash were recovered from them.

Sohan Lal, a third year law student at Harischandra College here, was the mastermind of the crime and had also worked as temporary bus conductor in the past.

Meanwhile, a reward of Rs 7,500 has been announced for the police team, sources added.
