Farmers stage 'dharna' to demand payment of sugarcane dues

Kushinagar, Feb 24 (UNI) Demanding quick payment of sugarcane dues, over 5,000 farmers staged a demonstration in this district of Uttar Pradesh.

Police said the farmers took to streets in Hata area after a Sugar Mill did not make payment of their dues. The 'dharna' caused traffic snarl for couple of hours.

They could be calmed down only after officials reached the spot.
