CPI urges govt to get Quattrocchi extradited to India
New Delhi, Feb 24 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (CPI) today urged the Government to take immediate steps to get Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi, charged with taking paybacks in the Bofors deal, extradited to India from Argentina.
The party, in a press statement issued here, stated that Mr Quattrocchi has been detained by Interpol in Argentina at the request made by Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI), and now UPA Government should take all necessary steps to get him extradited to India so that he can be put on trial in the Bofors case.
