Committee constituted to celebrate first War of Independence
Chandigarh, Feb 24 (UNI) The Haryana Government has constituted a state level committee under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda to celebrate 150th year of the first War of Independence.
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman said that members of the committee included Revenue Minister Ajay Singh, Education Minister Phool Chand Mullana and Chief Secretary Prem Prashant.
Other members of the committee are Fianancial Commissioner and Principal Secretaries of the departments of Revenue, PWD(B&R), Architecture, Home, Health, Education, Technical Education and Industrial Training and Commissioner and Secretary of the departments of Archives, Archaeology and Museums and Tourism.
The Commissioner and Secretary, Public Relations and Cultural Affairs Department would be the Member Secretary of the committee.
The Divisional Commissioners of Ambala, Hisar, Rohtak and Gurgaon, all Deputy Commissioners, Vice Chancellors of all the Universities in the state, Director General of Police, Comdt. General Home Guards, Director, Haryana Police Academy, Madhuban, Chairman, Haryana Swatantarta Sainik Samman Samiti and Secretary, Rajya Sainik Board would be other members of the committee.
Those nominated as non official members included Rao Yadavendra Singh, MLA, Rewari, Dr Ram Parkash, Kurukshetra, Mr Raj Kumar Tewatia of Faridabad, Mr Khurshid Ahmad, Ex-MP and Mr Chaman Lal Ahuja, freedom fighter.
The committee would draw the schedule of celebrations of the 150th Year of the first War of Independence in the state. The headquarters of this committee would be at Chandigarh.
