Baramulla Police Arrest a Youth for Drug Abuse

Baramulla, Feb 24 (UNI) As part of its campaign against the drug abuse, police arrested a youth and seized large number of medicines being sold to youths as alternatives to drugs here today.

An official spokesman said a police party raided a shop here on a tip-off that medicines were being sold to local youths who were later using it as alternatives to drugs.

He said police arrested one Showkat Ahmad Dar and seized 160 bottles of cough syrup (Recodex) and 100 strips of Spas moproxyan from the shop.

Police have launched a massive hunt to nab another person Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar involved in the sale of drugs.

An FIR has been registered in the police station at Baramulla.
