Jaipur, Feb 23 (UNI) Rajasthan Roadways' cumulative losses have touched a whopping Rs 400 crore including an expected loss of Rs 30 crore adding to the state enterprise during the current fiscal.

Rajasthan Road Transport Corporation Managing Director R P Jain said though the corporation was able to increase its revenue this year, the escalation in the running cost neutralised the gains.

He said the dearness allowance (DA) to about 22,000 strong employees on par with the state government employees alone puts an additional burden of Rs 1.5 crore every month.

Meanwhile, the corporation has announced a redution in fares with effect from March with an eye to increase passenger traffic and face competition for the private players.

Mr Jain announced a rebate of Rs 60 on the Volvo buses on Jaipur-Delhi route on purchasing tickets to and fro three days in advance while the rebate would be Rs 40 for the air conditioned and deluxe buses.

The roadways will also launch next month the 'unlimited daily pass travel system' in the Jaipur city for Rs 15 per passenger in ordinary and Rs 20 in low floor buses.

For the couples the rate would be Rs 25 and Rs 30 in ordinary and low floor buses respectively with a 50 per cent concession for children below 12 years age.
