Primary teachers to take to streets on Feb 26
New Delhi, Feb 23 (UNI) The All India Primary Teachers' Federation (ALPTF) will hold two-day agitation, which includes march to Parliament, here from February 26 to press for its demands.
ALPTF President Ram Pal Singh said the agitation is being organised to draw the attention of the Government towards certain ''unjust'' provisions of the Model Right to Education Bill and their other demands.
''These unjust provisions in the Bill need to be amended... The bill if passed will lead to total collapse of the administration of education through out the country,'' he added.
He claimed that the Government had forced the teachers to take to streets as it had completely ignored their demands.
Mr Singh said School Based Management Committee and School Based Cadre are the two provisions of the Bill which must be changed.
He said more than 50,000 teachers are expected to join the agitation which will commence at the Ram Lila MAidan UNI
