President in TN capital

Chennai, Feb 23 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam was accorded a warm reception at the airport when he arrived here today on a three-day visit to Tamil Nadu.

The President was received at the airport among others by Governor S S Barnala, Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, Ministers Arcot N Veerasamy, K Ponmudi and Thangam Thennarasu, Chief Secretary L K Tripathy, Director General of Police D Mukherjee and representatives of the three Defence services.

After a brief reception, Dr Kalam drove straight to the Madras Christian College (MCC) at suburban Tambaram to deliver the address at the 28th convocation ceremony.
