Doctors plead for security within RIMS campus

Itanagar, Feb 23 (UNI) Doctors of the Imphal-based Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Arunachal Pradesh Centre, have urged for adequate measures within the campus to quell the prevailing sense of insecurity in the hospital.

In a memorandum to Chief Minister Gegong Apang here yesterday, the P G doctors informed that on February 19 last, an armed mob had assaulted five doctors and security personnel, following the death of a patient in the hospital.

Though the dead body was yet to be claimed, the mob is reportedly camping around the hospital campus.

The doctors said that the mob was holed up in their hostel creatig a general sense of insecurity to their lives.

They pleaded the chief minister to take up the matter with the RIMS authority.
