Congress demands President's rule in Karnataka

Bangalore, Feb 23 (UNI) Accusing the JD(S)-BJP coalition Government in Karnataka of indulging in ''unconstitutional methods'' to run the State administration, the Congress today demanded that the Centre impose President's rule in the State.

Talking to newspersons here, Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly N Dharam Singh charged the Government with deliberately suppressing the Governor's message on holding election to the Legislative Council Chairman's post.

He said Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had no moral right to remain in power and should immediately quit his post for ''suppressing facts.'' Congress State President Mallikarjuna Kharge, who was also present, charged the Government with not following any rules and regulations, but indulging in unconstitutional means to run the Government.
