Common calendar for all universities in K'taka
Bangalore, Feb 23 (UNI) The Karnataka Government will introduce a common calendar for all its universities from the coming academic year, Higher Education Minister D H Shankaramurthy said today.
Talking to reporters here, he said the decision was taken at an inter-university board meeting here today. The education calendar would have common dates for reopening, conducting examinations and announcing results, he added.
The meeting also approved to begin eleven new courses at the post-graduate level from this year and the students opting for them would have to write the Common Entrance Test. Besides, it was decided to start yoga and meditation classes in the campus from the coming year, Mr Shankaramurthy said.
He said 90 per cent of the seats would be allotted to students from the State, with the remaining reserved for outsiders.
