BJP preparing to fix government in March 5 budget session

Panaji, Feb 23 (UNI) BJP leader Manohar Parrikar today said the Congress government will be taken to task particularly for the land scams, during the budget session of the Assembly next month.

Speaking to reporters here, he said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has worked out strategies to put the state government on mat over several issues, particularly land scams.

''Congress's decision to recommend the amendment to the Goa Official Language act to treat Marathi along with Konkani as the official language was to divert the attention of the public as the state assembly elections are fast approaching,''he said.

He said grabbing of the land by private companies in the state was going on on large scale and alleged that the state government had sold land measuring 2,35,375 square meters opposite Goa medical college, Curca to a real estate owner from Kolkata.

He also alleged that about 2.90 lakh square meters of Communidade land was sold to one former Surpanch from Karmali.

Proper independent investigation should be made into all land deals, he said.
