21 EC observers arrive in UP on Feb 28

Lucknow, Feb 23 (UNI) The election process in Uttar Pradesh is set rolling with as many as 21 Election Commission observers reaching to Uttar Pradesh on February 28 to oversee progress of voters list, voters identity cards and other related matters.

These observers would hold various meetings with the officials to take stock of the electoral preparedness in UP in wake of seven-phase assembly poll starting April 7, Chief Electoral Officer Anuj Kumar Vishnoi said here this evening.

He said in view of the election code of conduct enforced after declaration of poll on Wednesday, all those administrative transfers which were made earlier and not implemented would remain cancelled.

''This, however, would not apply to those, who according to the Election Commission, had to be transferred because having been posted at one place for more than three years.'' UNI
