Sony TV to telecast 52nd Fair One Filmfare awards on Feb 25

Mumbai, Feb 22 (UNI) Sony Entertainment Television (SET) will telecast the 52nd Fair One Filmfare awards, presented for excellence in Hindi cinema, on February 25.

Referred to as the ''Indian Oscars'', the nominations were announced in 12 of the 33 categories, a release said.

SET India Pvt Ltd CEO Kunal Dasgupta said ''We are extremely proud of our decade-long association with Filmfare -- 'the queen of all awards'. Our conviction in this partnership led to the inception of the 'Sony Face of the Year' award and the growing popularity of this award category only strengthens our endeavour to applaud women with talent and proven records of excellence in their chosen fields.'' On February 24, the counrtry's finest and most prestigious awards, sponsored by Elder Pharmaceuticals along with associate sponsors Bisleri and Ashrafi Finance, will hold the annual award night at an indoor venue, exclusively for the film fraternity.

''The awards night will be a black tie event, held along the lines of the Oscars, for the film fraternity. The dance and musical entertainment will be pre-recorded for the TV audience. The twin format will allow both the film fraternity and our film fans to enjoy the evening in the manner they ought to,'' the release quoted WWM CEO Devashish Sarkar as saying.
