Hydeabad, Feb 22 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Governor Rameshwar Thakur expressed hope that Scouts and Guides would work with a spirit of dedicated service for suffering fellow beings without any discrimination on the basis of caste, creed and religion.

The Governor was speaking at the 'Thinking Day Celebrations', organised by the Bharat Scouts and Guides Organisation in connection with the birthday of its founder Lady Baden Powell at the 'At Home' At Rajbhavan here.

Mr Thakur congratulated the Andhra Pradsesh Bharat Scouts and Guides contingent, which partipated in the special national Jamboree held at Rajarhat, Kolkata in January, bringing laurels to the state.

In 1930, the World Association of Scouts and Guides had unanimously voted lady Baden Powell as the Chief Guide of the movement. In 1932 the joint birthday of lord and lady Baden Powell came to be known as 'Thinking Day'.

The main objective of celebrating the 'Thinking Day' was to infuse a sense of dedicated service among the scouts and guides contingent towards the suffering fellow beings.
