Ranji: UP derail Rly

Indore, Feb 22 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh today pipped Railway Sports Promotion Board (RPCB) by 63 runs in a Central Zone Ranji league one-dayer at the Emerald Ground here.

After winning the toss, the railwaymen opted to field. Ravikant Shukla (54), Suresh Raina (39), Praveen Kumar (34), Ali Murtaza (30) and Parminder Singh (30) helped take the Uttar Pradesh score to 246/9 in the allotted 50 overs. J P Yadav's scalped 4 batsmen for 28 runs. Rahul Thakur and M Kartik claimed two wickets each.

RPCB crumbled for 183 in 47.2 overs. Karan Sharma (40), Sanjay Bangar (34) and Rahul (32) were the main contributors. For Uttar Pradesh, Shalabh Srivastava, Kumar and Singh took two wickets each.

The victors received four points and a bonus point.
