ORI bags Vignana nidhi award

Tirupati, Feb 22 (UNI) The Orintal Research Institute (ORI) here has bagged the prestigious 'Vignana nidhi' award for its rare palm leaf manuscript 'saubhagyaratnakara,' a treatise from the Union Tourism and Culture Ministry.

According to ORI Director V Venkataramana Reddy, Union Tourism Minister Ambika Soni presented the award comprising a cash of Rs one lakh, citation and a certificate at a function held in New Delhi recently.

The treatise on saiva siddhantha in grantha script was written by Sri Vidyanandanatha, he said adding rare palm leaves among the 45 manuscripts was selected for the Vignana nidhi award constituted by the National Mission for Manuscript.
