OC of Amta police station suspended

Howrah, Feb 22 (UNI) The Officer-in-charge of Amta police station Rajiv Ranjan Singh was suspended today for dereliction of duty.

Howrah Police Superintendent Niraj Singh said the OC was suspended after he was found guilty of not informing the higher officials on time about a scuffle between two families in Mullapara of Chandrapur village on Tuesday.

The victim who was critically injured in the row was admitted to the SSKM hospital where she died yesterday.

The Superintendent had also ordered for a departmental inquiry.
