MK hopes hopes for resolution of Cauvery issue
Thanjavur,Tamil Nadu, Feb 22 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today said he longed for solution to the festering Cauvery issue.
Speaking at a wedding function here, Mr Karunanidhi said 'the Cauvery River dispute began in 1924,' the year in which he was born.
In 1968, the then Chief Minister Anna Durai sent Mr Karunanidhi, who was holding the PWD portfolio, to New Delhi to hold discussions on the issue.
He began talks with the then Karanataka Chief Minister Veerendra Patil.
Till now, he had held dicussions on the issue with 11 Karnataka Chief Ministers and seven or eight Union Ministers many of whom were no more.
Mr Karunanidhi said the dispute was still continuing. He hoped to receive the good news that the issue had been resolved.
