Kasuri cautions against using Samjhauta incident for propaganda

New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI) Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri has rejected reports of any Pakistan link in the February 18-19 Samjhauta Express explosions and cautioned against using the incident or the India-Pakistan Joint Anti- Terror Mechanism for any propaganda.

In an interview with a television channel he said investigations could not be taken on face value as investigators often presented factss keeping in mind political considerations.

''To say that a Hindu or a Muslim or an Indian or a Pakistani is responsible, you destroy the entire process of investigation. You know, we live in South Asia...What I am saying is that lets hold our horses, lets wait for investigations to be completed. Let those details be shared with Pakistan and only then can we come to aa conclusion,'' Mr Kasuri told 'Times Now.' He also made it clear that whatever the findings of the Indian investigating agencies, these would be ratified by the Pakistani agencies if Islamabad is to take any action.

He warned that the peace process between the two countries would fail if it was turned into a blame-game or was used for propaganda.

Asserting that finger pointing must end, Mr Kasuri said both countriess had turned over ''a new leaf.'' He said the Joint Anti-Terror Mechanism would succeed because both countries were interested in it.
