JK: Govt decides to renovate poet's house
Srinagar, Feb 22: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has decided to renovate the house of eminent Kashmiri poet Shair-i- Kashmir Mahjoorat Mitrigam in south Kashmir's Pulwama district.
Out of Rs 62 lakh sanctioned so far for this, Rs 16 lakh has already been spent, an official spokesman said.
He said the renovation of library-cum-reading room, in which the poet's books would be made available for the readers, was being carried out apace.
Besides, an auditorium is also being constructed adjacent to Mehjoor's house by the R&B department for which Tourism department is providing Rs 34.41 lakh.
