Have Bengali signboards, else lose trading license: KMC
Kolkata, Feb 22 (UNI) The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has warned all shopowners in the city that they would lose their trading licenses if they fail to put up signboards in Bengali.
''It has been made mandatory for all the commercial establishments to have Bengali signboards. They have been also given a few days time to carry out the diktat,'' KMC mayor-in-council Dipankar De said here today.
However, the traders can write in Hindi or English below Bengali, he stated.
Mr De said the trade licenses of traders would not be renewed if they don't abide by the order, Mr Dey said.
