Ghosh urges CM to remove his departmental secretary
Kolkata, Feb 22 (UNI) In a politician-bureaucrat spat, West Bengal Co-operation Minister Rabindranath Ghosh has urged Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee to remove his departmental Secretary on the ground of saboteuring.
After a prolonged tussle with Principal Secretary Nihar Ranjan Banerjee, the Minister today publicly charged the bureaucrat with gross procedural irregularities and holding up files willfully.
'' I have sought his removal to the Chief Minister and he has assured me to comply with. Not only Mr Banerjee held up several important files, but he has indulged in wrong appointments,'' Mr Ghosh told reporters.
However, denying the Minister's charge, Mr Banerjee asserted that whatever he had done was in accordance with the rule and there was nothing abnormal in it.
