Agartala, Feb 22 (UNI) Close on the heels of the 'Mahakaran Abhiyan' and state-wide Tripura bandh by the Congress, the state's main opposition has announced to launch 'Vidhan Sabha Abhiyan' on March 2 in support of its 18-point charter of demands.

The Budget Session of the state Assembly begins here on March 2 with Governor Dinesh Nandan Sahay's address.

Speaking to newspersons last evening, Congress spokesman Ratan Chakraborty, a former minister said despite the CPI(M) led ruling Left Front's conspiracy to decimate the opposition, the Congress will continue its tirade against the Front's 'misrule'.

The state government was busy organising fairs to 'cover up its failure' in all spheres, including the law and order situation, besides, its 'facist misrule', Mr Chakraborty said.

''The Manik Sarkar led LF government is conspiring to introduce one party rule in Tripura wiping out the opposition,'' the spokesman remarked.

The 18-point charter of demands include setting up of service commission for appointment of unemployed, handing over of the case to the CBI for identifying those involved in the recent job scam in various government departments, immediate action to stop atrocities on women and freeing the Mahila Commission from politics.

Incidentally, the party's student wing, NSUI, had recently organised 'Mahakaran Abhiyan' to submit a memorandum to the Chief Secretary in support of its demands mainly on job distribution scam.

A state-wide bandh was observed last Monday to protest the alleged police attack on the NSUI activists.
