CEO SemIndia welcomes Policy of Semiconductor

Hyderabad, Feb 22 (UNI) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the SemIndia Vinod Agarwal today welcomed the Central Government Policy of Semiconductor.

In a statement he said the announcement of the semiconductor policy was a great positive signal to the investors. The policy announcement would give a major fillip to high tech manufacturing in the country which could become a significant contributor to the Indian economy, he added.

While complimenting the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram, he said the government had started another new chapter in India through this semiconductor poilicy, which would lead to the same kind of acheivements that the sofware policy did about 15 years back.

He said the policy would truly strengthen the visionary steps taken by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in planning the 'Fab City' the high technology manufacturing cluster.

He said Indian Semiconductor Associaton had done a fabulous job and played vital role in convincing the Centre to create such a policy.
