Samjhauta blasts: Arrested person resembles sketches

Bikaner, Feb 22: Police today claimed that one of the three people taken into custody here last night in connection with the blasts in Samjhauta Express resembles with the sketches of the accused released by the Haryana police.

Superintendent of Police Ashok Rathore told sources that two people were arrested and being interrogated. ''It seems they are linked to the attack on Samjhauta Express,'' he said.

However, sources claimed three people, including a woman, were taken into custody in connection with the case.

They said in a joint operation by Rajasthan police and Army a woman identified as one Saroh, a resident of Rampura, was picked up along with her ''brother''. Several criminal cases were registered against them, they added.

One Kamaluddin of Gangasher was also picked up for questioning, on information gathered during the duo's interrogation.

Sources said some incriminating documents were seized from their possession.

A special police team from Haryana is likely to reach here soon and those arrested will be handed over to them.

Two bogies of the Delhi-Attari special caught fire on Sunday night after explosives placed in suitcases exploded near Panipat in Haryana, in which 68 people, including many Pakistani nationals, were killed.
