27 Pakistanis among 33 bodies identified
Panipat, Feb 22 (UNI) A fresh batch of Pakistani relatives of the victims of the Samjhauta Express blasts was desperately looking for clues to identify their kin among the badly charred bodies at the Civil hospital here today.
So far, only 33 bodies have been identified of the Sunday train blasts victims of whom 27 were Pakistanis, including one Harif Mohammed who had died at New Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital.
As many as 17 Pakistanis arrived here today in two groups but most of them were unable to recognise their relatives from among the dead.
Seven of them, having given up hope to find their missing kin here, left for Delhi but the others were still struggling to find some familiar sign which could help them in the identification process.
Meanwhile, the bodies of 12 Pakistani victims were handed over by the Indian authorities to the Pakistan Rangers at Wagah border today.
