TN CM flags off Chennai-Delhi Garib Rath Exp

Chennai, Feb 21 (UNI) Flagging off the prestigious 'Garib Rath' superfast weekly express between Chennai Central-Hazrat Nizamuddin at the Central railway station here today, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidi hoped that the newly-introduced airconditioned train would fulfill the aspirations of the people.

Lauding Minister of State for Railways R Velu for implementing new railway projects for the development of the state, Mr Karunanidhi wanted that the state should be given prime importance in the coming railway budget also.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Velu said this was the third Garib Rath express introduced, after its announcement in the last railway budget.

The fourth Garib Rath between Delhi and Mumbai would be flagged off at New Delhi tomorrow , he said adding the first and second Garib Raths were introduced between Amritsar and Saharsa in Bihar and Patna-Delhi respectively, some months ago.
