Select metals decline on lack of fresh demand
Mumbai, Feb 21 (UNI) Select metals declined on lack of fresh demand at the Bombay Metal Exchange here while they remained steady on the London Metal Exchange on moderate demand.
In the ferrous category, copper heavy, copper utensils and brass utensils slashed by Rs 400, Rs 200 and Rs 100 per quintal respecively on poor demand, according to traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange.
In the non-ferrous category, zinc slab rose by Rs 100 per quintal on higher advice.
Tin slab and nickel cathode went up by Rs 20 and Rs 30 respectively per kg on better buying support.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 29,600, copper utensils - Rs 27,800, brass utensils - Rs 22,800, brass cuttings - Rs 24,000 and aluminium utensils - Rs 11,800.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 33,000, aluminium ingots - Rs 14,400, zinc slab Rs 17,900, lead ingots - Rs 7,900, tin slab - Rs 655 (per kg) and nickel cathode - Rs 1,980 (per kg).
