CM seeks votes in Valtoha, blames SAD for rise of terrorism
Valtoha, Feb 21 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh today sought votes from the electorate in Valtoha constituency for Congress in the name of peace and development while blaming the SAD regime for the rise of terrorism in the state.
Addressing a series of election meetings at Rajoke, Valtoha, Dhoot and Khemkaran in the Valtoha assembly Constituency of Amritsar district for February 24 polls, Mr Singh said ''the Shiromani Akali Dal is mainly responsible for the black days of terrorism in the state.'' Speaking in support of the Congress Party candidate Gurchet Singh Bhullar, Captain Singh said it was Congress leader the late S Beant Singh, who contained terrorism and revived peace and tranquillity in the trouble-torn state.
''The heavy and record turn out of votes during these elections was indicative of the people's unflinching faith and confidence in the policies and programmes of the Congress,'' Cap Singh claimed.
