Fatehabad, Feb 21 (UNI) Former Haryana Chief Minister Om Parkash Chautala today ridiculed the proposed 'Navyug Rally' of the Congress, being organised at Sirsa on February 25, claiming that in its two- year-regime the government had hardly done anything worthwhile to celebrate about.

Talking to media persons here, Mr Chautala ridiculed the claims of the Congress leaders that the achievements of the Hooda government would be lauded by the Congress President Sonia Gandhi during the rally and added that the government's two years term had been a ''story of failures'' and there was no achievement that could be talked about.

The INLD leader also ridiculed the Congress government for naming the rally as 'Navyug Rally'.

''The very name of the rally suggested that the Congress wanted to convey to the people that a new era would begin after February 25, the day of rally'', Mr Chautala said, adding that the government had itself admitted that it had done nothing worthwhile during the two years preceding the rally.

He also accused the state government of using the entire official machinery for the rally, which was being propagated as a rally of the Congress party. Despite that, he said, the government had not been able to enthuse common people for the success of the rally.

He said on one hand the Congress was propagating that the rally would be the biggest in the history of Haryana, while on the other hand, it had chosen a venue, which could hardly accommodate 50,000 people in it.

He alleged that the Hooda government had proved to be a big failure on power, water and law and order fronts and had also failed to provide corruption free governance to the people.

Mr Chautala claimed that a SAD-BJP government in Punjab, after the counting of votes, was a foregone conclusion now and added that the change of guards in that state would have its impact on the political situation in other states too.

He said the people of Haryana were fed up with the present government and were looking for an opportunity to dislodge it.

Commenting on the reported attempts of the Union government to impose President's rule in Uttar Pradesh, the INLD leader said the Congress had a history of misusing Article 356, to topple Non-Congress governments in the past too.

He said when Mulayam Singh Yadav had proved majority at the floor of the house and had already convened a session of the state assembly from February 26, there was no point of talking on these lines.

He claimed that in case President rule was to be imposed, Haryana deserved it the most where law and order situation had taken a nosedive during the tenure of the present government.
