Lucknow, Feb 21 (UNI) Amid hectic political activities in Uttar Pradesh following the Supreme Court's decision disqualifying 13 defected MLAs, the Maywati-led BSP today filed a petition before UP Assembly Speaker Mata Prasad seeking disqualification of its four members, who had voted in favour of Mulayam government during confidence vote on January 25.

The petition filed by BSP legislature party leader Swami Prasad Maurya asked disqualification of four of its MLAs namely -- Kuldeep Singh Sengar, Kapil Dev Yadav, Bhupendra Singh and Satto Devi.

It also asked for not allowing them to participate in voting in the state assembly on February 26 on the confidence vote to be sought by Mr Yadav.

Earlier, in an application of similar nature, the BJP on Thursday had demanded disqualification of its 10 members, who had voted in favour of the Mulayam government.

A total of 17 members had defied the whip of their parties -- ten from BJP, four from BSP and three from Ajit Singh-led Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD). RLD had also given an application to the Speaker against its three members asking for their disqualification.
