Villagers block traffic on Kumbakkonam-Chennai highway

Cuddalore, Feb 20 (UNI) Villagers of Pannuratti in this district today blocked traffic on Kumbakkonam-Chennai highway for four hours protesting against the police allegedly arresting an innocent person in connection with a woman's murder here.

They said Sekhar (32) had been arrested and lodged in Kannadakavadi police station.

This morning, he was found missing. While police said he had run away, villagers charged that he had come to harm at police hands.
