Tripura CPI(M) unit shocked over Chittabrata Majumdar's death

Agartala, Feb 20 (UNI) The Tripura unit of CPI(M) today expressed grave shock over the death of All India General Secretary of CITU Chittabrata Majumdar 1-1 Kolkata.

In a statement here, the party members extended their sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Comdrade Majumdar was suffering from acute respiratory problems and was battling for life since last 20 days in the hospital. He is survived by his wife and a daughter.

The party flag will fly at half mast till February 23 to pay respect to the departed soul.

The veteran Left leader and Polit Bureau member was Small Scale Industry Minister of West Bengal for few years before he became CITU's General Secretary.

Comrade Majumdar had visited this North Eastern state in December last and was closely associated with the CPI(M) unit here, the statement said.
