Students go on strike: demand revocation of dismissal order

Puducherry, Feb 20 (UNI) College students in Puducherry today absented themselves from classes and took out a procession to demand Ambedkar Law College authorities revoke the order for dismissal of five students.

The fourth year students of the law college had allegedly locked up a first year girl student in a class room, on Valentine's Day.

They misbehaved with her and pressurise her to love one of them.

Hearing the cries of the girl, the watchman of the college opened the room and rescued her. Later, she reported the matter to the college Principal and Kalapet police.

Police have registered cases under six sections of IPC.

The Principal had reportedly taken initiatives to dismiss the five students from the college, following which the students resorted to the agitation.
