Special action plan to control road accidents on NH-5

Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, Feb 20 (UNI) West Godavari district collector Lav Agarwal today directes Deputy Commissioner, Transport, T Raghunath to chalk out a special action plan to control road accidents in the district, particularly on National Highway No.5 between Chennai-Kolkata.

Presiding over the meeting of district road safety committee here, he said the district administration had identified some spots as accident-prone on the highway.

The accidents are reported to be due to defects in designing of the road especially at Asram hospital, Gundugolanu and Tadepalligudem bypass road.

He said he has asked Roads and Buildings officials to send a report to National Highways project director for taking necessary measures.
