Somnath condoles the demise of Chittabrata Majumdar

New Delhi, Feb 20 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee today expressed shock and deep sorrow at the passing away of CPI(M) Rajya Sabha MP Chittabrata Majumdar, the secretary of CITU.

"It is a great personal loss to me.

The invaluable services rendered by Comrade Majumdar, my colleague for long years in the Party, for the cause of ordinary people in general and the working class in particular, in his various capacities as a trade unionist, as a Minister in the West Bengal government, as a Member of Parliament and as a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly will be remembered for long," Mr Chatterjee stated in a message.

In the passing away of Comrade Majumdar, the poor and the working class in the country have lost a champion of their cause, Mr Chatterjee added.

Mr Chatterjee conveyed heartfelt condolences to his wife, daughter and all the comrades in the Party and CITU.
