'Oxyrich' gets Indian Patent and ISO 22000 certification

Bangalore, Feb 20 (UNI) "Oxyrich" bottled drinking water of Manikchand Group, has been given the process patent for oxygenation process.

Announcing this to newsmen here today, Group Chairman Rasiklal Manikchand Dhariwal said the production of Oxyrich involved a revolutionary technology that enabled 300 per cent more oxygen in the water. Pure oxygen was made to dissolve in water by a patented technology. The Indian patent authority had granted the process patent for the product. The oxygenation process made it the purest form of water with 300 per cent more oxygen. The company had also recently acquired ISO 22000:2005 certification, most stringent standard in the world for food safety management system, for its Pune plant, he explained.

Replying to queries, he said Oxyrich was the only product in the packaged or bottled drinking water segment to have received the certification.

He said the combined capacity of the nine plants including three coming up in Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Lucknow, across the country was 3.65 billion litres per year. The company had also registered its patented product in countries like South Africa, China and United Arab Emirates to enable setting up of units in future. To start with the company was considering a proposal to set up a unit in Dubai, he disclosed.

He said the group's investment was around Rs 100 crores. Bottled water segment in India was around Rs 1200 crores and registered a growth rate of 35 per cent annually, he added.
