Motion of thanks for Gov's address passed
Bangalore, Feb 20: Karnataka Legislative Assembly today passed a motion of thanks to the Governor's joint address on January 25 amid dharna by the opposition Congress in the well of the House.
Mr Vishveshwar Kageri (BJP) proposed the motion and it was seconded by Mr Rajanna (JD-S).
The motion was passed amid slogan shouting by Congress members against the government and demanding holding election to fill the Legislative Council Chairman post lying vacant since last nine months.
Mr G V Sriramreddy (CPI-M) expressed his anguish over the conduct of the House and passing the motion.
The Speaker adjourned the House for lunch break.
