Mizoram pays homage to Laldenga and Gandhis

Aizawl, Feb 20 (UNI) Mizoram Home Minister Tawnluia today paid homage to Mizo National Front (MNF) founder Laldenga and former prime ministers Indira Gandhi and her son Rajiv Gandhi.

Mr Tawnluia said Mizoram has not forgotten the contributions of the Gandhi family and Laldenga towards bringing peace and forming the state after prolonged uncertainty in 1986.

''Apart from Laldenga, we also remember the contribution of Indira Gandhi and her son Rajiv, who were instrumental in bringing peace and eventually helped Mizoram attain statehood,'' he said.

Praising Chief Minister Zoramthanga, Mr Tawnluia said, ''The MNF government has set an example by bringing peace in the state.'' UNI
