Lalu should resign on Samjhauta tragedy: BJP

New Delhi, Feb 20 (UNI) The BJP today demanded the resignation of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad on the issue of Samjhauta Express bomb blasts which left 68 persons dead and several injured.

''Rail Mantri Lalu should own moral responsibility for the tragedy,'' BJP Deputy Leader in the Lok Sabha Vijay Kumar Malhotra said.

He was not expecting it coming from Lalu who had not resigned while facing charges in several scams, he added. ''A train tragedy is too small a thing for Mr Lalu,'' he said.

He said Samjhauta blasts had belied Lalu's earlier claim that there was full security on trains.
