Khan terms Cong ''politically impotent''
Varanasi, Feb 20 (UNI) Senior Samajwadi Party leader and Uttar Pradesh Urban Development minister Mohd Azam Khan today termed the Congress 'politically impotent' and not worthy of comment.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Khan said Congress ditched the SP by withdrawing support from the state government only to help the BJP.
''Congress, which has demanded the resignation of Mulayam Singh Yadav led government on moral grounds in wake of Supreme Court order disqualifying 13 breakaway BSP MLAs is not worthy of comment. They are politically impotent,'' the SP leader noted.
''We do not need the advice of politically impotent people to decide if the government should remain in power or step down on moral grounds.'' Taking a dig at state governor T V Rajeshwar for his remarks over Sanskrit education, Mr Khan said ''it seems the governor is hell-bent at finishing our ancient languages including Sanskrit, Urdu, Arabic and Hindi.'' Mr Rajeshwar's remarks on the professional viability of Sanskrit education at the 27th convocation of Sampoornand Sanskrit University here recently sparked off student unrest on the campus.
Condemning the blasts in the Samjhauta Express, the SP leader said the perpetrators of the act have acted against humanity and not against any particular community. Even a death penalty will appear too small a punishment for these elements.
On the red sandstone tomb at Karballeh Fatimaan graveyard here for shehnai legend Ustad Bismillah Khan, he said ''Money will never be a constraint in actualisation of the monumental tomb.'' UNI
